Please join the Friends of Riverside Cemetery for a Hidden Secrets Tour on May 22 at 1 p.m.
The tour will examine the fascinating meaning behind monument symbolism, discuss the history of the rural cemetery movement and explore the stories of some lessor known figures who populate this beautiful National Historic Site. We might even reveal some of Riverside’s secrets.
We are asking for a $10 free will donation to help support our activities and to help us maintain our 36 acres. Please try to arrive 20 or 30 minutes early to find parking.
Our tour in October was a big success with about 230 people turning out to hear the history of Waterbury’s industrialists, inventors and a look at the striking art that graces the landscape. This tour will go a bit deeper and promises to enlighten first time visitors to Riverside and avid taphophiles.
